BOSS - Dataset
This dataset includes 15 sequences shot by 9 cameras and 8 microphones, all synchronized together to give the possibility of 3D video/audio reconstruction.
Web site: http://www.celtic-boss.org
Sequence 1
Cell phone theft (in Spanish language).
Sequence 2
Check out - a passenger checking out another man's wife, then fighting (in French language).
Sequence 3
Disease - a series of 3 passengers fainting, alone in the coach (both in French and Spanish).
Sequence 4
Disease in public (both in French and Spanish).
Sequence 5, 6 and 7
Harass - 3 sequences in which a man harasses a woman. In "Harass2", there are other passengers in the coach.
Sequence 8 and 9
Newspaper - two sequences (one in French, one in Spanish) in which a passenger harasses another passenger for his newspaper, and end up assaulting him.
Sequence 10
Panic (in French language) - a passenger notices a fire in the next coach, and everybody runs out of the train.
No Image.
Two more sequences are provided, containing no incidents whatsoever. They were shot to assess the robustness of incident detection software to false alarms
Sequence 11
"No_Event" shows passengers congratulating each other, with a lot of interactions and laughs.
Sequence 12
"No_Event2" is more representative of the usual ambience of a train, with passengers sitting quietly and comparatively motionless.
Other sequences are provided, which are not acted incidents but were used for specific incident detection tasks
Sequence 13
"Camera_Anomaly" (silent, only one camera) shows various types of camera malfunctions, namely underexposure, overexposure, unwanted motion of the camera (the picture goes out of frame), masking of the lens.
Sequence 14
"Faces" (silent, video only on 2 unsynchronized cameras) is a series of people passing in front of the camera with clothes varying between the takes.
Sequence 15
"Tagging" (audio only) is a recording of a spray bomb in a train in motion. Three takes were recorded.
A more thorough description of the sequences is given in BOSS_sequences.pdf.
Metadata:
Events generated by the BOSS processing are given for some sequences, in a file called "nameofthesequence.xml", in the same directory as the data set of the sequence itself. The format and types of the events are described in the PDF files in the root directory.
Contextual info:
All the sequences were shot in a Madrid suburban train kindly lent by RENFE who are gratefully acknowledged.
In order to allow as much flexibility as possible, all the video files are uncalibrated, the calibration files are provided along with each sequence and the description of how to use them is given in calibTutorial.pdf . An associated Matlab library is provided in BOSScalibTutorial.zip.
